About Us

Creative Learning House was first the name of our family's homeschool and then became a Reggio Emilia inspired morning school in Matthews, NC. Students took part in daily music, art, and play-based learning in a peaceful, loving, home-like environment. Due to my relocation to Florida, the school is closed and I am now bringing art and music programs to schools, homeschool groups, and other centers who would like to host them. It is a traveling school of the arts as I chase good weather along the East Coast United States.

Meet The Teachers

Kathleen Bellavia

(Ms. Kathleen)

Kathleen is the founder of The Music Makers, Inc. and Creative Learning House. She started playing guitar and singing when she was a teenager. As a young adult, she received vocal and guitar training, traveled with a band, served on the foreign mission field, and worked as a worship leader and in children's ministry in the States.

Kathleen has been teaching music and art in schools, studios, camps and other centers for over 30 years. In 2017 she was trained by Lynn Kleiner, founder of Music Rhapsody, and is currently a Licensed Music Rhapsody teacher.

Writing, teaching, and performing are Kathleen's passions. Her most recent accomplishments include cowriting and implementing a complete ukulele program, opening an arts-enriched morning school called Creative Learning House, leading drum circles and making original art with up-cycled materials. She currently travels back and forth between NC and FL offering her music and art programs wherever she goes.

Justin Bellavia

(Mr. Justin)

Justin is the son of founder/owner Kathleen Bellavia. He began to show interest and talent in music at a young age. As a homeschooled student, he was able to develop these gifts and talents on the guitar, banjo and ukulele.

Justin began working at Creative Learning Camps as an assistant when he was in middle school and developed a love for children. He gained additional experience working with children and sharing music with them at the YMCA, where he

has been employed since 2015.

In 2017 he was trained by Lynn Kleiner, founder of Music Rhapsody, and is currently a Licensed Music Rhapsody teacher. He also had a huge part in writing a full ukulele program and in making Creative Learning House such a magical place.

Justin is now the owner of Music Makers NC, LLC and is currently teaching full time, sharing his love of music in schools and other centers and serving as a worship leader in Matthews and Charlotte, NC.
